I'm not going to give up. I'll never give up! I'm going to trap at a local nature reserve tonight, said to have Pale brindled beauty (it isn't the commonest of moths in NI). It's got some oak forest, bog, willow forest, and a lot of Birch, so maybe, just maybe I'll get something there tonight. I also got a Yellow horned there last year. Reminds me, I'll have to trap another bog near me for it, found 20 Yellow horned cats there last year...

I've put the traps out in the oak and hawthorn woodland, maybe will get something. Also MV trap is in the garden. What time of night do the moths come out at?

This time of year mainly at dusk as it's ever so slightly warmer, although if its a clear night and it clouds overn later... inevitably the temperature rises and this wakes them up for flying.
