A nice varied catch again, masses of Agriphila geniculea and A. tristella, another Old Lady (in the trap again) and Nephopterix angustella the highlight.

An increasingly Autumnal feel to the nights and early mornings but the garden year list is still going strong:

So far 12,908 moths in total made up of 202 micro species and 241 macro species.

Yorkshire Coast - mostly micros

Had a few very relaxing days on the North Yorkshire coast with glorious weather to boot. Didn't trap as such but concentrated on netting around the cliffs in the evening and was rewarded with some very smart micros. Targeting several foodplants including gorse, fleabane and ox-eye daisy really helped with related species being readily netted and potted for ID. List so far as follows:

Mirificarma mulinella - several beaten from gorse
Grapholita compositella - good number

Another trip to the park

A school holiday afternoon trip to the park yielded:

lots of Yponomeuta cagnagella (on the food plant)
Scorched Carpet
Acleris forsskaleana
numerous C. culmella and A. straminella
ca. 30 Argyresthia pruniella
